They're going to pontificate and prevaricate and do their damnedest not to do a damn thing.
The real silver lining is that it forces Harris to make a choice between two bad moves:
Option 1 is to deny involvement with the border, which involves conceding the border is a sh*tshow, to put it mildly.
Option 2 is to embrace the border czar role and try to argue that her role was a success.
Neither choice builds Harris overall stature, as they require her to speak against at least one core constituency.
