Given the slow simmer that’s been happening for the past years, this was inevitable. If the left doesn’t stop their nonsense they will get what they are preaching about. Not from the right or even the center. They’ve bailed on them. They will do it to themselves and blame others while they go down in flames.
Certainly the left has shown a growing intolerance for heterodox perspectives and made increasingly strident demands for ideological conformity. Their willingness to "cancel" anyone who steps even slightly outside the "acceptable" positions on various issues could easily be seen as a contributing factor.
All the more reason to keep reiterating that political violence is absolutely unacceptable in this country. We might not be able to stop the left from self-destructing this way, but we can at least make sure they don't take the rest of the country down with them.
This appears to be only the third deliberate multiple target assassination in U.S. history, after the John Wilkes Booth conspiracy in 1865 and the assault on the House of Representatives in 1954.
Apparently part of the motive, Rep Horton voted against aid to illegals and Sen Hoffman voted “present”. So anyone who wants to say it was a right winger doing this is wrong. Who he was appointed by and what he had in his car were (or should be) proof of what this nut job stands for.
This reeks of labor union racketeering. Somebody was going to lose their bag when those undocumented immigrants are kicked of MinnesotaCare. Maybe it was this guy, or maybe he was acting as a hitman for someone else.
This was murder and attempted murder. This is absolutely certain.
These were Democrat politicians and their spouses. This, too, is absolutely certain.
From these, we may reasonably infer political motivation, which makes this assassination and attempted assassination.
Is this labor union racketeering? That is a possibility--the history of America's labor movement is rife with both violence and corruption.
Is this Democrat operatives seeking to terrorize their own into ideological purity? The presence of "No Kings" flyers in the suspect's vehicle certainly opens the door to that speculation, although at present those flyers appear to be the extant evidence to support this particular narrative.
Is this a "false flag" attack meant to discredit the MAGA Coalition? This seems unlikely--not only is it an extreme measure for relatively minor political gain, but a well placed "counter riot" as an apparent "response" to the "No KIngs" protests would have been far easier to organize and far more impactful in that regard.
Yet in every narrative this remains violence and it remains corruption. These crimes are detestable on their face and should be denounced as horrific crimes regardless of the particular politics behind them. There is no political quarter where such violence should ever be considered justifiable.
We need to say this over and over and over again, so that political violence and murder never become a "new normal" in our society.
You know what else is evil? The local media, here in Minneapolis, has done whatever it could to “imply” that somehow this is the work of right-wing extremists. If you go to the website of the main newspaper, www.startribune.com, you’ll find a dozen or more articles covering this, and you can see what I mean. A sentence stating the killer had a “political manifesto” pointedly did NOT say that it was leftist; the reader was left to infer, from other phrasings, that this was right-wing. Articles pointedly did NOT say WHY the killer did this, apparently so that a reader could jump to his own conclusion of essentially “Bad Man Orange!”. Initially, when the story broke this morning, the articles seemed to be stoking people to get out and protest at the virtuous “No Kings” rallies. But then, as the media found out the killer was reportedly a left-wing appointee of Governor Tampon Tim, they toned that down. By early this afternoon the media was warning people to NOT attend the rallies, to “stay safe” - as if, it a metro of 3.2 million people the killer would just happen to gun down YOU. It’s all been shameful corporate media. Personally, I think the media has been telling people to not attend the rallies because they are a bust. We’ve had light drizzle most of the day, the crowds are not as big as expected, and now they’ll have a good excuse why the rallies failed - people had to stay away to “stay safe”, of course!
I will bet that in coverage of the rallies, they will film from angles that make the crowd look much bigger than it was. Then, as basically a footnote, they will say that of course, the crowds would have been “even bigger, if there hadn’t been this killer on the loose!”
Champlin and Brooklyn Park are in Hennepin County. They both border Anoka County. I am a former resident of Anoka County and Hennepin County. This being said, these incidents are nothing short of an attempt to forcibly alter the systems of the United States Government established by people who forcibly detached themselves from a tyrannical and oppresive monarchy intent on reducing them to bondservitude. And the current crop of insurrectionists desire also to reduce people like myself to bondservitude.

Everything you have said here is spot on point !

The media has always been pretty disgusting about political violence, always presenting it as if the person's politics were some how relevant.
It does not matter what a person's politics are. Violence in pursuit of those politics is foul, disgusting, and simply evil.
We need to keep saying that and saying that and saying that until THAT becomes the new normal.
