I honestly don't know if it's even plausible for Syria to sign on to the Abraham Accords. Israel was not in favor of Trump dropping sanctions, so there are clearly a few obstacles to overcome!
Yet it is noteworthy because it speaks to a rather dramatic re-imagining of Middle East geopolitics. Right or wrong, for better or worse, President Trump appears to want to look past the old rivalries and old grudges.
Given how little success the status quo has had at achieving peace, I'm willing to get behind a little outside the box thinking!
