In the UK there are some people who actually get their electricity via prepaid meter--a true pay-as-you-go arrangement. For those people if the prepaid balance goes to zero the electricity immediately shuts off.
How UK energy companies manage their direct debit customers is a question, as is how that will impact the Don't Pay movement overall.
As a peaceful anarchist it always bothers me a bit when I see a headline saying: "Anarchy" when chaos is the subject. I guess "anarchy" is more of a grabber; more personal.

Yeah, you won't have electricity and/or gas. You will be in the dark and freezing.

It looks like Dominic Cummins might be behind the "Don't Pay movement".
Would not surprise me. Organization rarely just "happens".
By the same token, the angst over rising energy costs appears to be real. It certainly is of a piece with inflation sentiments here.
