If the donatations on GiveSendGo are effectively frozen, will donors be allowed to get a refund? If not, Canada basically defrauded a bunch of Americans.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time believing an Ontario court order has much stroke on this side of the border.

Presumably the courts were told indictable offenses were taking place. Only there have been no indictments and no arrests.

That's a useful legal tidbit.

Sounds like the Ontario government just joined Trudeau's circular firing squad.

Maybe I should have titled this tripling down on stupid?

Its approaching the time for the Truckers to dictate "the terms of surrender"

While I fervently pray the truckers prevail, let us not forget the Ottawa Police and/or the RCMP still have the "nuclear option" of sending in a couple thousand police and forcibly arrest the protesters.

If you've seen any of the protest videos coming out of New Zealand, you have seen how far the police can escalate this.

Looks like they realize that GiveSendGo isn't going to submit their demands, and that they have no power over it. Now the question becomes: Will the court actually issue such an order? And if so, is it only applicable in Ontario?

It might be applicable elsewhere in Canada, but good luck enforcing it anywhere else.

And even if it is enforced in Ontario, there's enough ways around it that it has zero chance of doing anything but radicalizing that many more Canadians.

Almost reminds me of the Christopher Walken sketch from Saturday Night Live -- "more Cowbell!"
