I wonder what the European Commission President thinks of Italy’s exit polls that show Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers Of Italy party and its campaign coalition members winning a solid majority in the Italian Parliament?
The polls, if confirmed, would give Italy its most right-wing government since World War Two, with Meloni expected to become the country's first woman prime minister.
An exit poll for state broadcaster RAI said the bloc of conservative parties, that also includes Matteo Salvini's League and Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia party, won between 41% and 45%, enough to guarantee control of both houses of parliament.
By returning both Matteo Salvini and Silvio Berlusconi to the government, the victory would give two of the leading lights of the right wing of Italian political parties something of a resurrection.
The victory very likely also sets Italy on a collision course with the staunchly globalist and fiercely supranationalist European Commission in Brussels, led by the ever so urbanely authoritarian Ursula von der Leyen, who has already made a veiled threat to force the coalition from the government if she gets miffed.
The future not just of Italy but also of the EU may just have been decided at the Italian polling stations. We shall soon see.
Given the growing euroscepticism within Italy, that eventuality is yet another reason this election has profound consequences even beyond Italy's borders.
Ain't it funny how "Democracy" and the "will of the people" is the greatest thing ever, unless/until the people vote for a government that won't toe the line?
The EU is an unelected globalist cabal.
Boot the EU.

Ursula von der Leyen chimed in just before the election:

Apologies. I'm way behind in my 'stacks and I see you already knew about and posted this in a previous article.
Great news if it holds!
