The UK is pushing forward with giving children as young as 5 a dose of Pfizer's mRNA COVID-19 inoculation, even as the National Health Service acknowledges that most children are not at risk for severe illness.
In general, most children are not at high risk of becoming severely ill from Covid.
In February, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation said vaccines should go ahead to prevent "a very small number of children from serious illness and hospitalisation" in a future wave of Covid.
The NHS calls the shot “future-proofing" children's immune systems.
Future proofing against what? The disease trends in the UK do not support any assertion the mRNA shots provide any meaningful protection against COVID-19.
The COVID-19 inoculation rate in Great Britain has risen from 65% to 73% over the past six months.
The increased inoculation rate has not prevented COVID-19 cases from rising.
The increased inoculation has not diminished COVID-19 deaths.
The increased inoculation rate has not reduced COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Any assertion of inoculation efficacy is irreconcilable with the irrefutable reality that the rise in inoculations has not been matched by a decline in COVID-19 infections, deaths, or hospitalizations.
Moreover, Great Britain's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) acknowledges an adverse reaction rate to the mRNA inoculations of 2-5 adverse reaction reports per 1,000 doses.
For the COVID-19 Pfizer/BioNTech Vaccine this represents a reporting rate of 1 report per 1,000 third or booster doses and for the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna there is an estimated 2 reports per 1,000 third or booster doses. Both of these are lower than the reporting rate for COVID-19 vaccines for all vaccine doses combined, which is between 2-5 reports per 1,000 doses.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), however, concedes that 8-10% of children receiving the inoculation miss at least one day of school afterwards—which is an indirect admission that 8-10% of children experience an adverse reaction to the inoculation, or 40 times the claimed adverse event rate.
The Pfizer-BioNTech paediatric COVID-19 vaccine is typically well tolerated, although local and systemic reactions following vaccination, such as fatigue, headache and injection site pain, are common in this age group. In the United States where over 8 million children in this age group have been vaccinated, 8 to 10% of persons reported at least one day absent from school following vaccination.
In other words, by the government's own data and estimates, the mRNA shots are 40 times more dangerous to children than to the general population.
Despite admitting children do not need protection from COVID-19, Great Britain is insisting on giving them a shot that is demonstrably ineffective under the best case scenario, while admitting the risks to children are 40 times greater than for everyone else.
They are ignoring their own data and are hoping parents will, also.
