i'm curious why time is spent on so much analysis of what may happen or could happen if certain puzzle pieces fall in place. I feel like I'm getting more of "the sky is falling" where it's possible it may fall in some distant future but at the moment it is only a possibility if 37 actions diverge at the same moment in time.

This is not to invalidate any of the criticism or fear here, but isn't there enough actually factual and happening today to keep everyone quite busy?

What is factually happening is that cities such as New York are building more and more surveillance infrastructure and doing more and more to micromanage people's lives

That's the present reality, not a future possibility.

Some folk are not down with the idea of Big Brother watching them.

of course! that's not my point, however. perhaps nobody clicks or reads if it is presented more as what is actually happened vs. what may happen.

thank you for your contributions!

They are not banning gas stoves either see: "What the right’s gas stove freakout was really about" Politico Jan 12 2023, "No, The Government Is Not Seizing Your Gas Stove" Rolling Stone Jan 11 2023. Hmmm: "New York becomes the first state to ban natural gas stoves and furnaces in most new buildings" CNN May 3, 2023.

I'm happy for the people of New York City, they need government to take care of them; rest assured, it will!

Indeed it will. Although I doubt many will enjoy the experience.

You get who you vote for. New Yorkers keep voting for the same 'type' of Mayor that 'governs them harder.' And it appears the city is experiencing a little bit of an exodus problem like San Francisco. About 5% of New Yorkers have left the city. One has to wonder how many in the 5% voted for Adams or De Blasio before him. And even Bloomberg. All paternalistic nannies.

Several years ago 'conspiracy theorists' (them again) warned that the 'climate change' (I think it was still global warming at the time. Just to show how long ago it was) zealots would eventually monitor food consumption. The so-called 'eat your broccoli' theory where the zealots would force people to buy fruits and vegetables. or trace how you eat. I joked at the time they'd send a health bureaucrat to come in and check your refrigerator. Here we are.

Around the same time, an opinion piece in the National Post was published where the author said 'climate change' was really about 'system change'.

We are all Dale Gribble now.
