wondering, is this another clue the establishment has abandoned the current KH/JB regime? why wouldn't they have cooked the books to show a great job numbers, knowing they can always correct later as they often do - to show this bad a number, almost seems purposefully low?

We certainly cannot rule out that possibility. Lord knows we’ve seen enough instances of Lou Costello Labor Math to be completely assured in their capacity to fudge numbers seemingly at will.

And if there any undecided voters who thought Harris credible on the economy, this is certainly going to raise questions.

We have no real proof that the establishment is intentionally throwing Kamala Harris under the bus with this report—but neither do we have any proof (or any other reason to believe) that the establishment would not throw her under the bus.

It is a possibility. It might even be a probability.

Dr K - or could there be a large revision down as per the norm? Ain't these folks supposed to be apolitical????

Well I think it's fair to say that there won't be a "large" revision to the October numbers because there ain't no "large" to revise!

Government bureaucrats are insanely political. But good luck on figuring out what their politics really are aside from more funding and more power.

This close to the election there’s no point to paying attention to ANYTHING said by a government official. It’s all self-serving propaganda and toady behavior. They’ll say and do anything now, even characterizing the opponent as ‘Hitler’. Puhleeze. As Gilda Radner also said, “It’s always something”.
