Gonna be a lot of people attempting to grow their own veggies this year. Many will fail. We've had a rule in our garden for decade now...nothing gets planted that we can't eat. Don't need commercial fertilizer. Got plenty of potash from our wood stove.

Yer preachin' to the choir, here. I've been posting about crop failures and potential famine (global cooling due to Grand Solar Minimum) for quite a while. Recent events aside, there was quite a bit of crop failure last season in North America--very bad year for corn and soybeans. Oil prices are also a major factor. Farm gear runs on diesel and fertilizer production costs are also oil dependent.
BTW: Grain-fed beef is nasty stuff. Most of the grain is GMO. Grass-fed/finished beef is much healthier.

Veggies are one thing. Grains are another.
Grains which also feed the cows and pigs that are the meat we eat.
Take away fertilizer, take away modern crop yields, and anyone not living on his own subsistence farm is in a world of hurt.
