If the money supply grows, so does inflation - which will definitely be blamed on Trump by corporate media. Peter, is there anything Trump can unilaterally do, via Executive Orders, that could counteract some of the inflation? Anything that is politically viable?

Not really. Executive Orders by definition do not apply to the Federal Reserve. If the Fed wants to goose the money supply, it will.

This must be very frustrating for Trump. Congress controls fiscal policy, the Fed controls monetary policy, and Trump’s plans are at their mercy. He’s the sort of take-charge guy who would manipulate this, if possible. If you ever see a work-around for him, Peter, let us know. Better yet, let HIM know!

The Constitutional reality is that the Founding Fathers intended the Congress to have responsibility over economic matters. The President was intended to take the lead in foreign policy and military matters.

The real frustration is that Congress has steadily abdicated its legislative duties, to the point that the President is just presumed to have sway over Congress. Within the Constitution, he doesn't
