Oh. You want to be serious? Ok. How do you know the Russian plan for Kyiv? I surely don't. It seems they're trying to encircle the city while providing a corridor for civilians to get out if they wish.

Those Russian humanitarian corridors. Never go for one, if you value your life.

Nice try, troll boy. Pardon me if I don't reply further to your bullshit. One of the problems with this medium is that one can't easily ignore troll posts.

A report from an anonymous 'senior U.S. defense official' is not my idea of unbiased information. AP is every bit as much of a propaganda source as RT. Unnamed sources? No thank you. Here's The Saker's latest update: http://thesaker.is/one-week-into-the-russian-special-operation-in-the-ukraine-update/ I've been following Andrei for many years and he's proven time and time again to be a reliable source. He's a former Swiss intelligence analyst who specializes in Russian affairs (and speaks the language).

Two quotes from Andrei regarding Day 1 operations, given on different days:

"The Russian attack began, as predicted, mostly by strikes with standoff weapons. 24 hour hours later the Ukie air force and navy ceased to exist. In this initial phase, few Ukrainian units were directly engaged."

http://thesaker.is/one-week-into-the-russian-special-operation-in-the-ukraine-update/

"Fifth, the Ukie military was 80% defeated on Day 1. Get that? It was gone as a coherent fighting force. THAT is why they are blowing up bridges, distributing weapons and releasing convicted criminals. NOT because they are winning! I mean – how stupid are you if you believe that? Ukie stupid?"

There is a reason one must be careful not to let one's rhetoric get ahead of the facts.

I am far from perfect in this regard, but it is one of many reasons I prefer to use a more moderate tone in my commentary. Keeps me from having to move goalposts.

Not very objective reflection of the situation, Andrei. So the other 20% defeated 90% of the Russian forces?

An old Russian guy spouting? I thought the youtube video will be more factual.

It's a question of style, Peter, and each has its place. Consumers of media like me have the luxury of enjoying the emotional outbursts of familiar authors who are close to a topic and weighing inconsistencies against their entire body of work. A 'moderate tone' that provides tasty food for thought is just as valuable. I can (and do) enjoy your prose and respect your point of view even when you have your head up your ass. ;-))
