This isn't Afghanistan or Iraq, it is the United States.

The principles and dynamics of asymmetric warfare are not exclusive to any one nation.

If civil war is to come to the United States, we can learn a lot about how it will likely unfold by studying Afghanistan and Iraq, and the insurgencies in both.

And air forces stay out of the mess, will ours?

Won't matter. Air power against ground forces requires those ground forces be fixed in place by opposing ground forces.

Asymmetric tactics rely heavily on mobility, which deprives air power of good targets.

Won't make any difference, they have already mapped out the areas to target. Do you think it matters to them if they kill some of their supporters too. The "insurrection" must be stopped at all or any cost. Why do you think Slow Sleepy Joe mentioned it, because he has already sat in on the planning.

These people are Marxists! And we the people have guns!
