As the (political) science continues to “evolve”, the White House is hoping the CDC will magically “discover” that universal masking is no longer necessary (pro-tip: the actual science has always shown that universal masking is fundamentally worthless).

The White House has been eager for the CDC to provide an update on its indoor mask recommendation, although it wants the agency to get it right and it doesn’t want to appear as though it is putting political pressure on the agency, said the two people familiar with the plans, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly.

So the White House wants the CDC to change its guidance in universal masking but the White House is not pressuring the CDC in any way.

And we all know how trustworthy the government is!
