I would not be surprised if it was only glorified janitor. Obviously he was able to advance in rank because obviously he completed Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non Commissioned Officers Course, and Advanced Non Commissioned Officers Course. Completing this schooling is the only way to get that kind of rank in the Army. It's also interesting that if he was ever a first sergeant it is not mentioned. Usually to go to the Sergeant Major Academy you have to be a good First Sergeant after you do First Sergeant School. So what else has his National Guard stints registered?
