Abbott Nutrition was derelict in its compliance with FDA regulations on maintaining a clean and safe production facility. Dereliction is always intentional.
Like wise the FDA was derelict in allowing the formula shortage to escalate to the crisis level it is at now.
While there is no evidence available that either Abbott or the FDA intended children to suffer, the essence of dereliction is that they just didn't give a damn.
At every level of this shortage, the consequences of the intentional acts that were taken were foreseeable. I know because I was among the ones doing the foreseeing.
Yet neither Abbott Nutrition nor the FDA bothered to weigh the consequences of their actions and inactions. By all outward appearance, they just didn't care.
That casual indifference to suffering is a particular evil common to bureaucrats. It's what makes Anthony Fauci such an odious and detestable little creature.
As is demonstrated in their new “formula bill” they passed to stuff more taxpayer dollars into the pockets of more FDA bureaucrats. I’d be surprised if 0.5% of that money actually goes towards helping the situation. I’d be even more surprised if it made it take less time and effort than is already required. Oh, and good luck finding people to work when you need them to come in and start working. Corporate ends up hiring at higher wages, the old employees find out and quit in disgust bc they are training morons to do their job for more $ than they make and you never get ahead. The whole system is slowly circling the drain in a death spiral. It’s what is going on where I work day after day after day.
I saw this coming as soon as the shelves started looking bad at my pharmacy. It is always the most vulnerable and veryoften the least able to afford to compensate (making home made formula would require very expensive start up ingredients even average families could ill afford). Those with severe food allergies have a hard time finding the right stuff under normal conditions. This is outrageous.
This is not by accident or chance. Evil. Pure evil.
Oh, it's quite intentional, on all sides.

This shortage is yet more proof that his species is quite common in the swamp of Washington DC.
