I listened to an interview with author of Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology published by Simon & Schuster and it was stated that new US export controls on semiconductor technology are designed to hurt Chinese industries and keep America at the heart of the chip supply chain.
The rupturing of global supply chains is working to bring on the ending of globalism.
That's a plus.
Long term the US will be forced to reshore several industries, bringing manufacturing capacity back to the US.
That's a plus for the US.
For China....the only plus is the eventual collapse of the Chinese Communist Party. Although devolution into another Warring States period is not likely to be seen by the Chinese themselves as a plus
