My husband told me last week the company where he works was getting ready for layoffs. Today he said around 60 or 70 people.. gone.

Update: my husband told me today the company had a meeting today and they getting ready for more layoffs this week and next week.. a total of 200.

Ultimately, I'm leaning towards worse.
Job numbers tend to be a trailing indicator.
Numbers like the ISM surveys strive to be leading indicators. Market reaction is also something of a leading sentiment indicator.
They are not pointing in a good direction.
