Don't Assume Anything Has Changed
Biden's Bad Night Might Not Impact What Democrats Believe
Emerging from Wednesday's meeting with Joe Biden, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accidentally revealed why Joe Biden can remain the Democratic Party Presidential nominee despite his disastrous debate performance on June 27th.
Walz clarified that none of the governors were denying that last Thursday, the night of the debate, was a “bad performance.”
Contrary to the media narratives, Biden's historic collapse is not all that impactful at this point.
We do well to remember the party leadership has ignored his cognitive decline since 2020.
We do well to remember that it was Republicans on the Hill who held hearings after Robert Hur revealed a reason for not prosecuting Biden for mishandling classified documents was that he was senile.
Biden successfully persuaded Robert Hur that he really is a doddering old fool. President Biden successfully made “Dementia Joe” a legal defense.
Yes, after that senility was broadcast on primetime television Democratic Party leaders are making all the expected noises to show concern about the upcoming election.
Yes, the media narratives are applying pressure on Joe Biden and his inner circle to drop out of the race—and yes, that raises the possibility that Biden may drop out.
But let us remember also that Biden's cognitive decline is nothing new. For many of us, the newsworthy part of Biden's debate collapse was that corporate media found it newsworthy after having dismissed so many earlier exemplars of his declining mental health. For many of us, Biden's clear cognitive deficits have been part of every political issue during his term.
Biden’s dementia—which has now been conceded by even the White House staff—makes every issue that much worse for Joe Biden. Biden’s dementia makes him appear un-Presidential on every issue.
Let us also remember that, regardless of Biden's obvious infirmities, the Democrats do not have a clear alternative available.
Consequently, not much has actually changed. Biden had an historically bad debate with Donald Trump, and everyone knows it. The Democrats are probably screwed going into the November election—bigly.
Don't assume that impacts what the Democrats believe.
Hell, I don't know what will happen, but all they have to do is crank up the vote machine and spit out 10 million more ballots than they did last time. Think the Republicans will say anything.
Oh, the Republican majority is all for it, no "standing" remember.
More cognitive dissonance from the Democrats! After years of denial about harm from the ‘vaccine’, it’s no surprise.
Governor Walz is the same guy who in 2020, while large chunks of Minneapolis were burning, declined to call out the National Guard, calling the riots a “peaceful demonstration”. Walz is a former school teacher, probably a nice guy who loves unicorns and rainbows, but you can’t get much more delusional than calling a situation “peaceful” while literally hundred of buildings are burning to the ground.
I just posted a link on Substack notes to a Youtube video of Biden calling himself a “black woman”. Wow! Let’s see what the fallout from THAT is today!
