Despite what a lot of people think, it's really quite difficult to persuasively fudge a set of statistics like jobs. It's easy to make up numbers but there are so many dimensions in the data set that with close scrutiny the dissembling becomes apparent.
But it takes more close inspection than corporate media is prepared to do.
Several people I know in their 50’s are being fired or laid off. The companies are folding their departments and not rehiring. Magnify that through out the country. Does the government fiddle unemployment and those receiving benefits too? Hmmm. 🤔. Let me think about that. I’m sure you have posted on that subject before. What a mess!!
Same here and the news of layoffs are just glossed over by media. Many jobs are being “simplified” and fulfilled by people in Peru and India and I’m guessing AI and robots in factories etc are gaining momentum.

It is a mess, and all the pandemic related benefits which are now being or have been withdrawn have not helped clarify the situation.
