Every year they crank up the fear porn during flu season for as far as I can remember. The difference is in past years we generally ignored it or didn't face the prospect of mandates.

Pretty much. In the past it was just background noise. Now there's a genuine threat behind it

Which means we can ignore it no longer.

Nice to see the US pulling the same “shifty” as NSW by what looks to be an extension of the surveillance period for 2021 & 2022.

Figure 14 in report below, note similarity to one of your charts:

What's disturbing is how little the narrative actually uses the data. Inflection points and downward trends are extremely relevant--for assessing the future outcome from any event the final trend is far more impactful than whatever peak or trough was reached.

Sadly, that is the reality of "experts" the world over it seems. They neither look critically at the data, and may not even be able to comprehend it when they do.

Which is why I say that "expert" is little more than wokespeak for "blithering idiot."

I think it’s more sinister than that at least here in NSW. I can’t believe that they can’t see it (plausible denial) I’ve seen them reformat the data, change definitions or just not report it when it starts to become obvious that their narrative is flawed. I used to closely follow their shell game week to week when they used to report on a more granular level. Problem is no one is holding anyone accountable which suits both sides of politics here.

Sadly, all too true.

Ballots are failing to enforce accountability. Bullets are likely to be necessary.

Here’s another example of “data-crime”, just went to check if our bureau of statistics were “taking out the trash” near Christmas, and found this note, they know what they’re doing, the January release probably doesn’t give them enough time to cook the books by the normal release date with them all being public servants and being on summer holidays.

“The Provisional Mortality report in its usual format will not be released in late January. Instead, a short article will be published, including only summary content”

I wouldn’t wish bullets as a solution anywhere. I have friends and family that experienced and some even fought in the Croatian War of Independence and I have heard their stories over beers, not something I’d like to see happen to anyone anywhere.

Arguing the finer technical details with my auntie about whether her garage was was hit by a missile, artillery shell or a mortar is not a conversation I’d thought I’d ever have. 😀

I don't want to see bullets fly anywhere.

I'm just seeing fewer and fewer alternatives.

I really hope for everyone’s sake it doesn’t come to that.🤷‍♂️

There is a considerable body of actual evidence that rejects your thesis entirely.

You are at liberty to put forward a rebuttal to that evidence.

I did.

It's just flat out wrong. If that's what you consider a rebuttal to a century's worth of actual research, you are entitled to that opinion.

I'm entitled to disregard it. And I do.

This discussion is at an end.
