There is definitely not a clamoring for mRNA inoculations anywhere in the country.

Yet that is precisely what makes this guideline of "you must get the original before you get the new and improved" so absurd. If the goal is to get jabs into arms you want to remove policy barriers, not erect them, and this rule is nothing but a policy barrier.

If the CDC truly wants people to get the shot they could not have chosen a more counterproductive strategy if they tried.

Do you know why they won't let unvaccinated people get the omicron boosters? I agree that most unvaccinated at this point aren't going to get the omicron booster, but I assume the CDC must have a "science" reason for their position, made up or otherwise?

Just speculation on my part, but the way they refer to these new shots as "boosters" to me suggests that the bureaucratic mindset of the Faucists is insisting on doing things in the "proper" order--because rules. If the shot is a "booster" then before you can get "boosted" you must first be inoculated. Otherwise it wouldn't be a booster, which it has been declared to be.

Of course, the initial "boosters" were just additional doses of the original inoculations that were called "boosters", so don't expect the bureaucracy to have a firm grasp on reality. That's not the Faucist way.
