If there was any lingering doubt that the real pandemic in this country is a pathological lack of clue, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra has surely laid all such doubts to rest, joining the “woke” governors of Illinois, New York, and California in declaring monkeypox a public health emergency.
“We’re prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus, and we urge every American to take monkeypox seriously and to take responsibility to help us tackle this virus,” said Xavier Becerra, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, during a briefing with officials and the media.
Pretend monkeypox is a very deadly virus which has so far claimed a whopping three lives outside of Africa, despite infections running into the tens of thousands.
What “take responsibility” does not mean in this context:
Advocating sexual restraint and a curtailing of sexual contact with multiple (and even anonymous) partners.
Avoiding close intimate contact with anyone who has a suspicious looking rash.
Using any semblance of common sense to avoid obviously infected people out for a booty call.
In short, the HHS Secretary is preparing to waste millions of taxpayer dollars on a disease outbreak that could be largely mitigated if not stopped entirely simply by the most impacted patient demographic keeping their knickers on for at most two months, to let the virus die down.
Because to expect self restraint and impulse control would be “stigmatizing”.
This is the level of stupidity that passes for health policy in this new post-pandemic idiocracy of ours.
The government is willing to give people a vaccine that gives 1% of the recipients heart problems for a disease that doesn't kill. I find it appalling that cardiac events are not considered "serious". I'll be interested to see what the heart issuedls are with double vacced/double boosted covidians, sure their heart problems are muuuuuch lower.
